The church presents simple shapes and has spanish artistic origins. The first
restructure works, and the information about religious feasts, for the adoration
of Saint Lucia goes back to 1633.
The church were edified for a vow made after the big plague, which happended in the town in the years 1652-56. Nowadays the church has become anonimous, but the population of the town still adorates the Saint with the traditional religious rite, caracterised by a bonfire “su fogadoni” this is made on the 19th of January, the night before the religious rite.
This church is presented on the outside, with stone gates and little stone
windows, but inside, in the presbytery, you will see a wooden altar dated ‘700
century. This church has only one nave where you can find the sleeping Virgin
Mary and the Infant Jesus inside the shrine. We haven’t got much
information about the date this church was built, the only thing we know,
is that the religious rite of the Assumption Day use to be an antique tradition.
